Allison Pritchard

Allison is a dynamic communications professional and a creative wordsmith with experience in almost every form of media.  In 2010, she graduated from the magazine writing and editing master’s program at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. There she completed in-depth reporting in the downtown Chicago newsroom as the first grad student to cover the self-created beat “sexual issues and public affairs.” She also honed her skills in Adobe Creative Suite and interactive/social media skills and crafted several compelling feature magazine-style stories.

Before attending graduate school, she worked in the “real world” for two years. Her first position was working as a national advertising copywriter, creating online, print and direct mail copy for NAS Recruitment Communications at the Cleveland headquarters. The next year, as a reporter and features coordinator for West Life News, a suburban Cleveland newspaper, she oversaw six freelancers and organized the features section, in addition to covering community issues. One of her monthly opinion columns received more reader feedback than any other column the general manager had seen to date.

Allison earned her bachelor’s degree in 2007. She graduated summa cum laude from Kent State University with an electronic media production major and a Writing minor as a member of the Honors College. As an undergrad, she produced, wrote, filmed and edited various documentary and video projects, including pseudo “live” news shows. She also paved her way as a columnist for the Daily Kent Stater, acquiring a mass following of reader commentary. During the summer after graduation, she helped work on a documentary about Alcoholics Anonymous, filmed in the organization’s birthplace, Akron, Ohio, while interning with Joshua Tree Productions.

Today Allison resides in Avon, Ohio and spends her free time creating homemade PhotoShop greeting cards, taking extracurricular courses in the community and exploring the city (while taking thousands of pictures along the way with her new D-SLR). Pizza and her boyfriend vie for the title of her favorite thing on earth. Allison loves to travel and has visited a dozen countries and more than 50 cities nationwide. She is mother to a 6.5 lb. yorkie-poo and her favorite questions is “Why?”
